Problem Statement & Purpose:
Being enrolled at one of the top Historically Black Colleges and Universities, one would know that there are not many cafes located in a 2-mile range, where students can go enjoy tea, coffee and baked goods, while doing work, studying or hanging out with friends. Six students at the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University wanted to change that, and created a space for all HBCU students entitled “Kulture Cup”.
Kulture Cup is a black-owned tea company that specializes in black brew tea. Kulture Cup has customized a tea for each HBCU based on colors, mascot and school pride. Students, faculty, staff and alumni can enjoy their own school’s teas and other HBCUs’ teas, while thriving in an environment made just for them.
For branding, we went with a simple design that included a steaming tea cup and neutral colors. With doing this, Kulture Cup has an established brand identity that will also be able to incorporate HBCUs branding.
In order to showcase our prototype, we used InDesign as a tool to better understand the layout, visual aesthetics, and functionality of the mobile app.
I would like to thank my teammates, Dr. Mehta, and colleagues for the support, feedback, and guidance throughout the duration of this project!
